Synopsis — Dolly Evans, A Tale of Three Casts

Dolly Evans, A Tale of Three CastsDolly Evans is 65, and lives alone in a small cottage in the Cumbrian village of Upper Markham. Dolly is one of those people who are often referred to as 'larger than life'. In more ways than one she fulfils this description as she goes about her slightly chaotic life in the small community.

Her self-centredness and plain speaking can sometimes alienate those around her, but like many eccentrics, Dolly is blissfully unaware of the effect she has on others.

But one day, out shopping, she trips in the fishmonger's shop and breaks her wrist. From this small incident grows a tale of friendship, travel, comedy and kidnapping that sees Dolly and her friend, Zolanda, get into trouble with the law in the Lake District.

As can often be the case, a crisis brings out the best in Dolly, and the difficult aspects of her character become strengths as she comes to the rescue of her last remaining friend.
